ETTC 2025 Highlights

The 2025 edition of the European Test & Telemetry Conference (ETTC) took place from 10 to 11 June at the Pierre Baudis Congress Centre in Toulouse.

Organised jointly by the Occitanie regional groups of SEE and 3AF, the conference focused on testing and test instrumentation, particularly within the aerospace and space sectors.

The event opened with a plenary session featuring 4 keynote presentations on the first day and 2 on the second. Across 2 parallel rooms, attendees had access to 36 technical presentations, organised into 8 sessions. A dedicated exhibition space hosted 30 stands from leading European and American test and telemetry suppliers.

Keynote Highlights

    • Mathieu Pettes-Duler (Beyond Aero) discussed hydrogen-powered aircraft development and testing.

    • Céline Loisel presented on Kineis, a satellite constellation focusing on ground antenna networks.

    • Jean-Pierre Diris introduced IRIS², a secure satellite communication system.

    • A final Day 1 keynote showcased the test instrumentation and campaign for the innovative RACER helicopter prototype by Brice Makinadjian and  Marc Seznec.

Day 2’s plenary included:

    • Carsten Doll (ONERA), who described electric propulsion tests on a scale-model aircraft using differential thrust.

    • Basile Périn (DGA), who shared insights on parachute drop testing and associated flight instrumentation.

Technical Themes

The technical sessions featured:

    • Bi-directional telemetry links and satellite communication for flight testing.

    • Nanotechnology-based dynamic strain gauges, enabling higher acquisition rates.

    • Use of LiDAR for shape measurement and image processing for video analysis.

    • Early applications of Artificial Intelligence in user-driven tools and test methodologies.

Participation & Atmosphere

Despite the absence of Russian participants in recent years and last-minute cancellations from several American partners, the conference welcomed around 220 attendees. The gala dinner, held on Tuesday evening at the congress centre, hosted nearly 100 guests in a convivial atmosphere.

In conclusion, ETTC 2025 proved to be a successful and enriching event. Many thanks to all authors, speakers, exhibitors, attendees, and partners. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2027, once again in Toulouse, the week before the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget.
